No Wake Within 150 of Shore until August 9, 2019

Due to high water levels this year, Lake John has an emergency no wake put on by the County Sheriff to stay 150 feet from any shoreline, good for 30 days. Signs are posted at each landing.

The Board also approached the county to put Lake John in the group of lakes for future no wake implementation when our water level is way above normal.

One other item to note: The black water coming in at the inlet by the DNR landing culvert has been determined by SWCD and the MPCA as bog stain in that wetland (natural from the breakdown of plants) and with the rain they are guessing that it is getting flushed out into the lake.

What to do if you see someone with a wake within 150 feet.
