Loon Update 6.28.15

I toured the lake on Sunday, June 28th and both Loon Nurseries are looking good.  The Northern family has a chick with white feathers under-body.  The Southern family chick is quite a bit smaller and still covered with down and there is also definitely at least one rogue loon around.  The adults seem to be flying around more, but the chicks still need to get help with feeding time.

Loons love clear water lakes for easy fishing. I saw the new Bald Eagle sitting in the nest in Finger Bay.  It is quite large now, but still trying out its wings.  I had good fishing around Rocky Point.  Caught bullhead, perch, sunfish, crappie, bass, walleye, and Northern-all within 4 PM to 7 PM.  They were all pretty small, but I have never caught all these species in one short outing.  We are very fortunate to have a quality lake.
