Our Northern Nursery loon family survived another beautiful and busy weekend on Lake John. The chick and one adult were near our dock at 6:30 AM today. The chick came up from a dive and swam to the adult and prodded its neck and beak for food; then the adult dived to hunt. Obviously,
the chick still dependent on parents for its nourishment. Chick still smaller than its parents, but looking good.
