Loon Migration Information

I read more on Migration of Common Loons.  It is common for Loon Families to break up in late Summer.  They join groups on larger lakes and move in numbers around 20.  Youngsters do not necessarily move with “parents.”  If any linger alone, it’s a sign something’s wrong: maybe injury or illness and they don’t make the trip to the Ocean for the Winter.
